This drawing of Headland Farm Park connects directly to the previous picture of Manganese Point. This piece has a special story behind it. The house halfway up the hill belongs to a lovely couple I met at the Onerahi Market. The husband, Jack, pointed out their home in my original black and white drawing and mentioned he would love to see it in colour.

That single comment sparked something in me. Jack is the reason I started turning my drawings into colour—otherwise, they might all still be in black and white! In a happy coincidence, another woman I met at the same market lives nearby and sells my favourite orange flowers. Because I find orange so cheerful, it has become a recurring element in my art, along with houses and boats.
