The Cement Works

The Cement Works themselves must have started on Limestone Island (see picture of the island). I don't know much about the works themselves, although I can see them at night as they light up the night sky; you would think it's a big city. I love to look at the lights.

Limestone Island is all ruins now but is well worth a trip by boat from the Town Basin in Whangārei. I have walked all the tracks, and there are great views looking down the harbour.
