Neil

This artwork is a close-up segment of McLeods Bay in 2025, but it represents much more than just a landscape. It's a tribute to the community we've found here, personified by our friend Neil. A 78-year-old local character, Neil watches over our dinghy, embodying the spirit of good neighbours.

The scene also carries a sense of history and change. The rock walls, originally built in the 1930s, have been almost completely washed away by Cyclone Gabrielle, altering the coastline forever. Created through a multi-layered process of sketching, watercolour, ink, and digital manipulation, this piece merges personal gratitude with a snapshot of a landscape in transition. It’s about the people who make a place feel like home, even as the land itself changes around them

This is a digital artwork that you can print at your local print shop onto canvas or other materials.

The dimensions of the design are 2690x1922   5MP

By puchasing this artwork you'll help this special artist continue creating new images inspired by our beautiful harbourside.
